This is it, jesus christ this semester was a long and brutal one. This is my 'Background Layout and Design' final project e.g. 3/4 of the class. The goal of this class (for this particular teacher anyway) was to make a segment of a short film, with massively detailed backgrounds and ridiculous dynamic camera angles.

These shots all started out as hand drawn pieces on real 12 field animation paper, all layed out so that they could be put into PHOTOSHOP (AND LOL NEIA JUST SPENT LIKE $300,000 on 50 new cintiq tables, you know, PERFECT FOR DRAWING IN PHOTOSHOP) but anyway so 10 hours of scanning later you would then color all of this shit to prepare it for 3DS max.

3DS max you say? Basically we make a bunch of 2d planes and add a camera, then apply the images as textures to the planes and boom! Simulated multi-plane camera for all of your depth and character pass-through needs. Again for some irony, all of this crap and we can do the exact same thing faster, easier, and BETTER in After Effects. Speaking of which, after this was rendered in 3DS max, I put it through after effects to add the obligitory bloom and crappy intro/outro (which was better initially until I had to re-render it at school without my cooler fonts available).

Anyway, don't take issue with the 'animation' this was exclusively camera and background movement, no character animation needed and not even extra credit. So shit just slides around as you will certainly notice.
